Balancehero India Pvt. Ltd. (BHI), the wholly-owned subsidiary of Balancehero Co. Ltd., Korea which runs and operates the mobile app “True Balance”- a one-stop destination for financial services.” Founded by Charlie Lee in Korea in 2014, Balancehero started its operations in India in the year 2016. It started off as a balance check application and the company has expanded its business model to financial services. The company aims to build a financial platform for the next billion which set the context for loans, utility services, pay later services, and commerce services.

Details of the Job/Internship

Balancehero India Pvt. Ltd. is hiring a legal manager to join them in their Gurugram office.

Role and Responsibilities

• Handling entire civil and criminal litigation, filing complaints with police/court in cyber-crime matters, liaison with enforcement authorities. Represent the company and ensure best steps to mitigate risks and adverse impact on the reputation of the company.
• Review/vetting/ handling end to end execution of contracts related to the business ( HR, administration, collection, marketing, & other departments) including ensuring that outsourcing agreements have relevant clauses as required under law.
• Reviewing/ handling execution of agreements & security documents related to fund raising and provide end to end support to the Finance Team. Manage all formalities for execution of documentation and archival of documents properly.
• Drafting/ reviewing standard templates of the Company & group including reviewing product journey.
• Resolving / helping relevant teams to provide appropriate response to complaints raised by Customers.
• To perform minimum legal due diligence, KYC checks & other on-boarding requirements before execution of legal contract as per policies of the Company.
• Research and prepare summary on guidelines issued by RBI, relevant judgments & other legal topics. To pro-actively create and maintain awareness of business employees of relevant laws and regulations and relevant legal/compliance issues faced by entities doing similar business.
• Managing external advisors, law firms, consultants and follow ups with them.
• Managing tracker and other MIS maintained by the Legal team, perform internal checks/review of processes & highlight issues along with resolutions.

Eligibility

• 4-8 years of post-qualification relevant experience of handling core legal roles in Bank/ NBFCs or law firms with banking & finance practice.
• Experience in PPI Industry/ fintech tech will be an added advantage.
• (BBA-LLB)/ or (BCom- LLB) from a reputed University/ Law School preferably a 5 year course from any National law school.

Salary/Stipend

Compensation details will be finalized during the interview process with the selected candidate.
