Gopinath, a Stanford Ph.D. and IEEE Fellow, and Ray Sata, ex-chairman of Analog Devices Inc. 

Details of the Job/Internship

Simplia is hiring a patent specialist to join them remotely. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end patent application process, with a focus on expedited examination under Rule 24C.
• Draft and review robust patent claims that clearly define and protect Simplia’s AI innovations.
• Conduct in-depth prior art searches to ensure the uniqueness of our technologies.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including AI engineers and product managers, to identify patentable inventions.
• Stay updated on patent regulations, especially those applicable to startups and AI-based innovations, ensuring compliance and strategic alignment.
• Collaborate with legal advisors and patent offices to resolve objections and streamline the patent approval process.
• Provide guidance on intellectual property strategy to ensure Simplia remains at the forefront of AI innovation.

Eligibility

• Proven experience in patent filing and claim drafting, particularly for startups and innovative technologies.
• Outstanding knowledge of Rule 24C and the expedited patent examination process.
• Deep understanding of global patent laws and regulations, especially in the US and India.
• Demonstrated success in securing patents for complex technical inventions.
• Strong research and analytical skills for prior art analysis.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex ideas clearly.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced startup environment.
• A background in AI, software, or technology patents is highly desirable.
• Law degree with specialization in intellectual property or equivalent patent agent certification.
• Experience working with international patent offices and navigating multi-jurisdictional patent filings.
• Familiarity with AI technologies and their patenting nuances.
