Details of the Job/Internship
AK & Partners is hiring a Senior Associate (Dispute Resolution) with experience of 3 to 5 years to join their office in Delhi.
Role and Responsibilities
Case Handling and Litigation Management:
- Take the lead in managing complex commercial disputes and regulatory cases.
- Represent clients in various dispute resolution forums, including court hearings, arbitration, mediation, and regulatory proceedings.
- Independently handle high-profile cases with minimal oversight, ensuring timely progress and successful outcomes.
Drafting and Research:
- Prepare comprehensive legal pleadings, including petitions, appeals, affidavits, and case summaries.
- Conduct in-depth legal research to support case strategies and inform senior leadership.
- Review and enhance draft submissions from junior associates to ensure high standards.
Client Interaction and Strategy Development:
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing regular updates and addressing client needs proactively.
- Advise clients on case merits, risks, and possible outcomes, managing expectations effectively.
- Collaborate with partners and senior team members to develop case strategies and tactical approaches.
Mentorship and Team Leadership:
- Guide and supervise junior associates in their research, drafting, and client-handling tasks.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing by conducting internal training sessions on dispute resolution practices and recent legal developments.
- Encourage a collaborative team environment to drive high performance and continuous learning.
Court and Arbitration Hearings:
- Prepare and argue cases in court and arbitration hearings as needed.
- Engage with external counsel, opposing parties, and regulatory authorities to facilitate smooth case progression.
Strategic Contribution:
- Provide insights and updates on legal precedents, regulatory trends, and best practices within the dispute resolution domain.
- Participate in strategic planning for client cases, identifying potential challenges and proposing solutions.
Eligibility
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized Indian institution.
- Experience: 3-5 years of proven experience in litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution within a law firm or reputable litigation practice or chamber.
Skills:
- Advanced drafting and research abilities.
- In-depth understanding of Indian court and arbitration procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Proficiency in legal research platforms (e.g., SCC Online, Manupatra).
- Experience in managing commercial, regulatory, or cross-border disputes.
- Exposure to arbitration or mediation with a background in alternative dispute resolution.
- Prior leadership or mentorship experience.
