Jagori Rural Charitable Trust (Jagori Grameen), A Non-Governmental Organization is located in Rakkar, a village in the foothills of the Himalayas near Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh.

Our engagement with the community addresses all forms of discrimination based on gender, class, caste, religion, disability and all other forms of social exclusion and seeks to protect the individual and collective dignity of the most marginalized. 

Major involvement of JRCT is with communities that fall under marginalized category, within that there is a special focus on women and young girls.

Details of the Job/Internship

Jagori Rural Charitable Trust –JRCT is looking for a woman lawyer, a full-time position with a strong women’s rights perspective for its community intervention-based violence prevention/elimination program, including supervision and holding Women’s Courts.

Experience: Strong writing skills in English and Hindi. Minimum two years commitment

Role and Responsibilities

The position primarily requires a strong legal and conceptual understanding of VAGAW, Gender equality/equity, Gender Justice and a strong inclusive intersectional perspective. 

Comprehensive knowledge about legal frameworks for protecting and protecting girls and women is essential. In addition, experience of conducting legal training, and mediation including court procedures and community outreach is important.
