Department of Law, Prestige Institute of Management and Research, Indore, is an exclusive institution dedicated to Legal Education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The institute is the only NAAC A++ Law Institute in the state of Madhya Pradesh and one among 12 institutes in India. It is also the only private autonomous law school in the state of Madhya Pradesh approved by The Bar Council of India, New Delhi and affiliated to Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore.
Details of the MUN/Debate/Competition
Department of Law, Prestige Institute of Management and Research, Indore, is organising their 1st National Client Counselling Competition 2023, scheduled to be held on 20th-22nd October 2023 in a virtual mode through Zoom.
The National Client Counselling Competition is an ambitious event that brings together law schools from across the country to showcase their skills in client counselling and advocacy. This competition provides an excellent platform for law students to develop and demonstrate their expertise in client interaction, problem-solving, and legal ethics. The competition will consist of multiple rounds, including preliminary rounds, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a final round. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in simulated client interviews, provide legal advice, and demonstrate their ability to effectively communicate with clients while adhering to ethical standards. Participation in this competition will not only offer valuable experiential learning but also provide an excellent networking opportunity with peers and legal professionals from various institutions.
Themes
- Problems for Preliminary rounds shall be based on Law of Torts, Law of Consumer
- Protection, and Law of Contract.
- Problems for Quarter-final rounds shall be based on IPR, Law of Contract and allied laws.
- The problem for Semi-final rounds shall be based on Criminal Law and Personal Laws.
- The problem for the Final round shall be based on Constitutional Law and Environmental Law.
- Participants are bound by Advocates Act, 1961 and legal and professional ethics prescribed therein.
Eligibility
- Students of three-year and five-year law degree courses from any University/School/College/Department are eligible to apply for registration of their team. Students from post-graduate programmes law diploma programmes or part-time law programs are not allowed to participate.
- A maximum of two teams shall be allowed to participate from a particular University/Law School/College/Department.
