The JIMS Engineering Management Technical Campus Department of Law, Greater Noida, has been a centre of excellence in Legal Education since its inception. It offers undergraduate Law Degrees (B.A. LL.B. and B.B.A. LL.B.), focusing on providing a strong foundation in legal principles and their practical applications.

The Department is committed to shaping students into future Legal Professionals through Innovative Teaching Methods, Rigorous Research Opportunities, and Practical Training.

The Society organizes annual events designed to simulate real-world Legal Scenarios, encouraging the development of Analytical Thinking, Research Proficiency, and Practical Advocacy Skills essential for a successful Legal Career.

Details of the Moot Court Competition

JIMS Engineering Management Technical Campus, Department of Law, Greater Noida, proudly presents the 4th Jagannath Memorial Moot Court Competition 2025, scheduled with the following timeline:

Preliminary Round: 24th February 2025 (Online Mode)
Advanced Rounds: 28th February – 1st March 2025 (Offline Mode at our campus)

Theme: Criminal Law with a focus on the Involvement of the Enforcement Directorate

Dress Code: Participants are required to adhere to the following dress code at all times while being present in any Courtroom during the Competition.

Ladies: Western Formals (White formal Shirt and Black Pant, Black Tie, Black Blazer).
Gentlemen: Western Formals (White formal Shirt, Black Pant, Black Tie, Black Blazer).

Language: Communication for all official purposes for the online/offline Moot Court Competition is English.

Accommodation and travel will not be provided by the Organizing Committee. Participants are required to make their own arrangements.

Eligibility

The competition shall be open for Bonafide students who are pursuing a 5-year integrated LLB programme or 3-year LL.B programme from an Institute or University situated in India and recognised by the Bar Council of India.

TEAM COMPOSITION

Each team shall strictly consist of three members. There shall be two speakers and one researcher in each team and the names of such speakers and researchers shall be informed at the time of registration. No additional member or observer shall be allowed to represent any team. Swapping of members is strictly prohibited.
All participants shall bear with them at least one identity document for any probable verification during the mooting session(s).
Each team shall be allotted a unique team code before the competition. During the competition, all teams shall be identified by the distinct team codes allotted to them.
No Team shall disclose their identity or that of their institution or city etc. except to the organizers, when necessary, any such disclosure shall invite strict penalty including and not limited to disqualification, at the discretion of organizers.

Awards

Winning Team: ₹ 15,000 + Trophy
Runners-up: ₹ 10,000 + Trophy
Best Mooter: ₹ 3,000 + Trophy
Best Memorial: ₹ 3,000 + Trophy
Best Researcher: ₹ 3,000+ Trophy

The Winning team and Runners-up will be awarded subscriptions upto 2.50 Lakhs. In addition to the above awards, certificates will be awarded to the winners. All participants will receive participation certificates. The awards will be presented during the Valedictory Ceremony.

Registration Fees (if any)

All the teams shall be required to make a payment of INR 2100/- via Bank Transfer with registration form to register for the Competition. The details for the payment of Registration Fee will be e- mailed to you, after you apply.
