Details of the Job/Internship
The Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) is hiring for the position of Advocate with 3-5 years of experience to join their office in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
Drafting & Reviewing Agreements
- Proficiently draft, vet, and negotiate various legal documents, including:
- Leave and License Agreements
- Legal Notices (e.g., Demand Notices, Eviction Notices)
- Work Contracts (Vendor, Service, Employment Agreements, etc.)
MMRDA Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with the guidelines and directives issued by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), including interpretation and implementation.
Board Meeting Support
- Review and vet minutes of Board Meetings to ensure legal accuracy and proper documentation of resolutions and decisions.
General Legal Advisory
- Provide day-to-day legal advice and support to management on a range of legal and compliance matters.
Liaison & Coordination
- Coordinate with external legal counsel, government authorities, and other stakeholders as needed.
Legal Research
- Conduct in-depth research on applicable laws, regulations, and legal precedents.
Documentation & Record Keeping
- Maintain organized and up-to-date legal documentation and records for internal and regulatory use.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.
- Enrolment with the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa.
- 3 to 5 years of experience practicing as an Advocate, with expertise in property law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong legal drafting, reviewing, and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with MMRDA regulations and corporate governance practices is a plus.
- Proven experience with board meeting documentation and compliance.
- Fluency in English, Hindi, and Gujarati (both spoken and written).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
