Details of the Job/Internship

Srivastava & Company is hiring an Advocate with a minimum of 1–2 years of mandatory DRT experience to join their full-time team in Kolkata. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Represent clients before the Debt Recovery Tribunal (DRT), Debt Recovery Appellate Tribunal (DRAT), and Consumer Forums.
• Handle court appearances, present arguments, and ensure procedural compliance.
• Manage cases specifically under the SARFAESI Act, RDB Act, and Arbitration and Conciliation Act.
• Draft and vet various legal instruments, including applications, petitions, written statements, and legal notices.
• Conduct detailed legal research and case analysis to develop effective litigation strategies.
• Maintain case records, prepare briefs, and ensure all filings are completed within strict deadlines.
• Coordinate with internal teams and clients to provide regular case updates and manage documentation.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.
• Mandatory enrollment with the Bar Council of India.
• Minimum 1–2 years of practical experience specifically in DRT matters.
• Strong working knowledge of DRT/DRAT procedures and Consumer Protection laws.
• Prior experience in banking or financial institution recovery matters is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication, argumentation, and client-handling skills.
• Ability to commute to the job location in Kolkata.
