Details of the Job/Internship
Srivastava & Company is hiring an Advocate with experience of 1–2 years to join their office in Kolkata.
Role and Responsibilities
- Represent clients before DRT, DRAT, and Consumer Forums.
- Handle appearances, arguments, and procedural compliances before tribunals and forums.
- Draft and vet applications, written statements, petitions, affidavits, and legal notices.
- Manage cases under the SARFAESI Act, RDB Act, and Arbitration and Conciliation Act.
- Conduct detailed legal research and case analysis to support litigation strategy.
- Prepare case briefs, maintain case records, and ensure timely filings.
- Coordinate with clients, courts, and internal teams for case updates and documentation.
- Stay updated with amendments, judgments, and developments in recovery and banking laws.
Eligibility
- Law degree (LLB) from a recognized university.
- Enrolled with the Bar Council of India.
- Minimum 1–2 years of practical experience in DRT matters.
- Strong knowledge of DRT and DRAT procedures, SARFAESI Act, Arbitration and Conciliation Act, and Consumer Protection laws.
- Proficiency in legal drafting and documentation.
- Ability to conduct independent legal research and case analysis.
- Good communication, argumentation, and client-handling skills.
- Prior experience in banking, financial institutions, or recovery-related matters is preferred.
- Ability to handle multiple matters and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
