Details of the Job/Internship
Maruti Suzuki India Limited is hiring a Legal Counsel – Real Estate and Contracts with 8–10 years of post-qualification experience to join their office in Delhi.
Role and Responsibilities
- Negotiate, draft, and vet contracts.
- Draft and review property-related agreements including sale deeds, lease deeds, term sheets, development agreements, and MoUs.
- Conduct title due diligence for properties across PAN India and prepare title reports.
- Coordinate with external counsel and consultants for property verification and compliance.
- Manage property disputes and civil litigation independently.
- Draft legal notices, applications, plaints, replies, and rejoinders.
- Attend court proceedings, liaise with external advocates, and oversee litigation strategy.
- Oversee contract lifecycle management including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Ensure legal compliance and risk mitigation in all contractual engagements.
- Conduct legal research and advise business teams.
- Prepare legal MIS reports and dashboards using Excel.
- Create and deliver PowerPoint presentations for management and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain records of legal documents, case files, and contracts.
- Conduct legal training sessions for business teams when required.
Eligibility
- Educational Qualification: LLB.
- Work Experience: 8–10 years of post-qualification experience in legal practice.
- Prior experience in both law firms and corporate legal departments preferred.
- Essential exposure to real estate, litigation, and contract management.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
- In-depth knowledge of civil procedure and property laws.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple legal matters simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
