Details of the Job/Internship

American Express is hiring for the position of Analyst-Compliance  with 4+ years of experience to join their office in Gurugram. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Conduct compliance operations to support Market Compliance Officers in international markets.
• Analyze financial documents to detect suspicious or potentially fraudulent activity.
• Investigate financial risks and monitor high-risk operations.
• Perform Politically Exposed Person (PEP) reviews and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) at onboarding and scheduled intervals.
• Execute Sanctions Screening during both account onboarding and lifecycle management.
• Lead stakeholder engagements, including alignment calls with senior leadership across business units.
• Communicate findings effectively and ensure risk alignment with business stakeholders.

Eligibility

• 4+ years of relevant experience in AML, audit, or compliance roles in a Big Four firm or banking/financial institution.
• Preferred: Experience in internal audit, SOX testing, or PRSA testing.
• Educational background in Law, Chartered Accountancy, MBA, CPA, or ACAMS certification is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently across end-to-end processes — from interpreting regulations and designing test scripts to fieldwork execution and reporting.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify complex issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in a foreign language (e.g., Japanese, German, Spanish) is an added advantage.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, results-driven, and resilient under pressure.
