Details of the Job/Internship
American Express is hiring for the position of Analyst-Compliance with 4+ years of experience to join their office in Gurugram.
Role and Responsibilities
- Conduct compliance operations to support Market Compliance Officers in international markets.
- Analyze financial documents to detect suspicious or potentially fraudulent activity.
- Investigate financial risks and monitor high-risk operations.
- Perform Politically Exposed Person (PEP) reviews and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) at onboarding and scheduled intervals.
- Execute Sanctions Screening during both account onboarding and lifecycle management.
- Lead stakeholder engagements, including alignment calls with senior leadership across business units.
- Communicate findings effectively and ensure risk alignment with business stakeholders.
Eligibility
- 4+ years of relevant experience in AML, audit, or compliance roles in a Big Four firm or banking/financial institution.
- Preferred: Experience in internal audit, SOX testing, or PRSA testing.
- Educational background in Law, Chartered Accountancy, MBA, CPA, or ACAMS certification is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently across end-to-end processes — from interpreting regulations and designing test scripts to fieldwork execution and reporting.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify complex issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in a foreign language (e.g., Japanese, German, Spanish) is an added advantage.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, results-driven, and resilient under pressure.
