Details of the Job/Internship

Reporting to the Head of HSE – Trafigura Trading Operations, the CHESS & Contractor Management Adviser will be responsible for:
Establishing and maintaining a HSSE Contractor Management approach across Trafigura Trading Operations, including control effectiveness improvement programs.
Physical inspection programme including outsourcing of requirments.
Development and maintainance of Trading Operations Risk Registers including oversight/performance insights of designated high risk operations and control effectiveness (tactical response plans etc).
Operations team CHESS & Contractor Management training (new starters and refreshers)
Contractual clause and GTC reviews.

Role and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Contractor Management

Development and maintenance of HSSE Contractor management process including reviewing, onboarding, coordinating and monitoring of multiple contractor types across the business reviewing, onboarding, coordinating and monitoring of multiple contractor types across the business.
Implement and own HSSE Contractor Management process across Trading Operations.
Collaborate closely with the Operations Team to provide the necessary implementation support and for Contractor HSSE related activities i.e. Risk Assessment, Incident Reports, Improvement Programs.
Facilitate dialogue with Contractors on HSSE expectations and specific requirements, per contract conditions.
Consolidate Contractor HSSE lagging and leading KPI & programs.
Develop training and on-boarding program to Operations Teams & Contractors.
Manage physical assurance programme to verify that Contractors are meeting Trafigura requirements and support capacity building.
Collaborate with Operations Teams to facilitate Contractor meetings to discuss and resolve HSSE implementation issues/concerns.
Establish leading and lagging KPIs and metrics to provide contractor safety management business insights and to facilitate improved risk management and risk based decisions.

Risk Management

Development and execution of Trading Operation Risk register approach
Development, implementation and assurance of high risk operational controls eg. (tactical response plans etc).

General

Development and execution of operations team & contractor CHESS training (new starters and refreshers)
Review and align CHESS contractual clauses and support GTC reviews.
Support CHESS Improvement Projects as and when required.

Eligibility

HSE, Engineering or Science related qualifications
Minimum of 5 years in HSE in industry
Functional skills: Experience with reporting systems and MS Office
Languages: Fluent English language required
Key Leadership expectations: shape, connect, deliver
Communication skills: Extensive experience with managing relationships with stakeholders on a tactical level; Being able to translate complex information into easy-to-apply guidance
Strong project management skills with the drive to achieve results on time with good quality
