Details of the Job/Internship
Bandhan Bank is hiring an Area Legal Manager to join their office in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
- Monitor SARFAESI processes including symbolic and physical possession, auction, sale, and coordination with agencies and collection teams.
- Draft, review, and reply to letters and notices received at the branch level in coordination with the HO Legal Team.
- Review and vet loan agreements, declarations, undertakings, and other legal documents related to home finance, retail loans, micro loans, and group loans.
- Coordinate the filing of police complaints and liaise with the Fraud Control Unit.
- Assist in empanelment of lawyers with support from the HO Legal Team.
- Coordinate issuance of PoA for branch officers to act as Authorized Officers under SARFAESI and represent the bank.
- Manage vendor coordination, lawyer bills, and performance reviews.
- Cross-check Title Search Reports and property ownership details and report discrepancies.
- Coordinate with Sales and Credit Teams for mortgage registration and related tasks.
- Attend court matters in civil, DRT, consumer, Lok Adalat, conciliation, and criminal cases and update the Reporting Manager.
- Maintain proper records of SARFAESI notices, legal documents, and files.
- Maintain MIS for all legal work and share it with the HO Legal MIS Team.
- Attend monthly HO Legal meetings and highlight critical issues.
- Conduct legal research and update the team on landmark judgments and RBI circulars.
- Ensure compliance with SoP and legal policies.
