Details of the Job/Internship
Shubham Housing Development Finance is hiring an Area Legal Manager with 4–7 years of experience for its non-litigation/business legal team.
Role and Responsibilities
- Oversee the legal scrutiny and title search process for properties under the HL and LAP portfolios.
- Prepare detailed Legal Scrutiny Reports (LSR) and technical reports to assess property viability.
- Conduct in-depth due diligence on ownership chains, encumbrances, and municipal approvals.
- Manage and monitor the performance of external legal vendors and empanelled advocates.
- Provide legal clearance for loan disbursements based on the verification of original title deeds.
- Liaise with business and credit teams to resolve legal queries related to property titles.
- Ensure all non-litigation legal processes comply with the company’s internal credit policies and HFC regulations.
- Support the regional business area by identifying and mitigating potential fraud or legal risks in property transactions.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or a Law Graduate from a recognized university.
- 4–7 years of experience specifically in a non-litigation role.
- Mandatory working exposure in Home Loans (HL) and Loan Against Property (LAP).
- Previous experience with a Housing Finance Company (HFC), NBFC, or Bank is essential.
- Proven expertise in the preparation and review of Legal Reports.
- Ability to join immediately (ASAP) is highly preferred.
