Details of the Job/Internship

YES BANK is hiring an Area Legal Manager with experience of 8–10 years to join their office in Mumbai. The role involves end-to-end management of all litigation filed against the bank, coordination with external counsels, internal stakeholders, and authorities to ensure timely handling, defence, and reporting of cases across forums, tribunals, and quasi-judicial authorities.

Role and Responsibilities

• Manage all litigation filed against the bank from receipt of notices or summons till final disposal, including post-order compliance.
• Draft notices, replies, petitions, complaints, policies, and processes in-house.
• Coordinate with external counsels, internal stakeholders, and authorities for accurate and consistent representation of facts.
• Strategize and defend matters in coordination with business units.
• Collect, collate, and verify required documents and information from stakeholders.
• Analyse cases, identify risks, and formulate defence strategies or out-of-court settlements in consultation with seniors and lawyers.
• Identify and manage advocates, law firms, and legal vendors.
• Ensure timely filing of replies, affidavits, petitions, and appeals within limitation periods.
• Track and monitor cases, maintain records, classify matters, and prepare periodic MIS reports.
• Attend court proceedings and regulatory offices as a representative of the bank under POA.
• Report adverse orders, high-value, sensitive, or risk matters to seniors.
• Maintain and verify billing details of lawyers and process bills.

Eligibility

• Law Graduate.
• 8–10 years of experience.
• Understanding of banking policies and practices.
• Strong understanding of civil and criminal laws with respect to banking litigation.
• Good analytical, drafting, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office, including MS Excel.
• Eye for detail and good learning acumen.
• Zeal to succeed and a must-win attitude.
