Details of the Job/Internship
YES BANK is hiring an Area Legal Manager with 8–10 years of experience to join its legal team in Mumbai. The role involves end-to-end management of all litigation filed against the Bank, coordination with external counsels, internal stakeholders, and authorities, and ensuring timely handling, defence, reporting, and compliance of cases across forums.
Role and Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end litigation filed against the Bank across all courts, tribunals, and quasi-judicial authorities.
- Handle matters from receipt of notices/summons until final disposal, including post-order compliance.
- Draft notices, replies, petitions, complaints, policies, and processes in-house.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external counsels, authorities, and POA holders for effective case management.
- Strategise and defend matters in coordination with business units and legal counsel.
- Collect, collate, verify, and analyse documents, facts, and grounds required to defend cases.
- Ensure accurate and consistent representation of facts before courts and authorities.
- Analyse cases for strengths, risks, and settlement possibilities in consultation with seniors and lawyers.
- Identify, manage, and coordinate with advocates, law firms, and other legal vendors.
- Ensure timely filing of replies, affidavits, petitions, and appeals within limitation periods.
- Track and monitor cases, maintain proper records, case classifications, and documentation.
- Attend court proceedings and regulatory offices as a representative of the Bank under POA, as required.
- Prepare and publish timely MIS and monthly reports on pending and disposed cases.
- Report adverse orders, high-value, sensitive, or high-risk matters, including cases against senior management, to seniors.
- Verify and process lawyers’ bills and maintain billing records.
Eligibility
- Law Graduate.
- 8–10 years of relevant experience.
- Expected Grade: SM / AVP.
