Details of the Job/Internship

Agarwal et al. Advocates is inviting law students to intern with them in their Kolkata office. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth legal research using advanced databases and draft legal opinions on corporate, intellectual property, technology, media, and privacy laws. 
• Engage in intellectual property matters, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights, and assist in drafting applications, oppositions, and infringement notices. 
• Contribute to privacy law compliance, data protection, cybersecurity, and AI regulations. 
• Draft and review commercial agreements, contracts, NDAs, and licensing agreements. 
• Conduct due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, corporate restructuring, and SME advisory. 
• Support corporate governance compliance and regulatory matters. 
• Assist in court proceedings, arbitrations, and dispute resolution cases. 
• Develop case strategies, prepare pleadings, affidavits, petitions, and responses. 
• Assist in client representation and present evidence in litigation matters. 
• Support legal assessments related to film, digital content, broadcasting, and OTT regulations. 
• Research and advise on intellectual property rights in the entertainment and media industries. 
• Handle court filings, hearings, case management, and documentation. 
• Assist in billing, invoicing, and maintaining internal legal databases. 
• Perform other assigned legal and administrative duties, etc. 

Eligibility

• Final-year law students and recent law graduates (awaiting Bar enrollment) are welcome to apply. However, they must meet all the following mandatory criteria for their application to be considered: 
• Educational Qualification: Law degree from a recognized university in India with a minimum aggregate of 65% or equivalent CGPA. 
• Linguistic Proficiency: Exceptional command of English; proficiency in Hindi or Bengali is advantageous. 
• Legal Research Skills: Strong ability to conduct web-based research and legal database searches. 
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite, AI tools, and advanced search techniques. 
• Professional Experience: Prior internships in law firms or with litigating counsels will be highly valued.
