Details of the Job/Internship

Biswajit Sarkar – Advocates – IP Attorneys is hiring an Assessment Intern and a Client Relationship Trainee to join its team in Kolkata. The Assessment Intern role offers hands-on exposure to intellectual property law by working closely with experienced IP attorneys, while the Client Relationship Trainee role focuses on networking, representation, and marketing activities at national and international platforms.

Role and Responsibilities

• Conducting legal research on various aspects of intellectual property law.
• Assisting in preparing legal opinions and client communications.
• Writing articles, blogs, and presentation materials.
• Handling prosecution matters related to intellectual property rights.
• Participating in client meetings and case strategy discussions.
• Staying updated on global developments in intellectual property rights.
• Attending meetings with clients and institutions in the global IP ecosystem.
• Representing the firm at seminars, symposiums, conferences, and professional forums.
• Supporting outreach efforts by highlighting the firm’s contributions to the development of intellectual property rights through various media.

Eligibility

• Final semester of a five-year bachelor’s degree in law or a master’s degree in law.
• Strong academic record with exposure to intellectual property laws.
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
• Basic understanding of patent, trademark, and copyright law in India.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in law for the Client Relationship Trainee role.
• Proficiency in English, Hindi, and Bengali, with preference for knowledge of one European language.
• Confident and charismatic personality with strong public speaking and interpersonal skills.

Salary/Stipend
