The company specializes in managing its own loan portfolio as well as third-party portfolios, particularly non-performing loan pools and REO. WBL operates with a fully remote global team.

Details of the Job/Internship

World Business Lenders (WBL) is hiring an Asset Resolution Counsel (Lawyer) on a contract/consultancy basis to join their fully remote team. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor non-performing real estate collateralized commercial loan portfolios, including REO.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop Asset Resolution Department staff.
• Oversee commercial litigation, bankruptcy, and foreclosure activities.
• Liaise with attorneys, collection agencies, and vendors.
• Negotiate settlements and propose bidding instructions.
• Maintain delinquency and loss mitigation reporting, including trend analysis.
• Analyze debtors’ financial positions and payment histories.
• Handle expense monitoring and advise on protective advances.
• Participate in budget preparation for the Asset Resolution Department.
• Ensure efficient loss mitigation and recovery strategies.

Eligibility

• Law degree from a U.S.-accredited law school (mandatory).
• Experience in commercial litigation, bankruptcy, foreclosure, and real estate loss mitigation.
• Proven ability in managing non-performing loan pools and REO.
• Experience supervising and mentoring staff.
• Strong knowledge of applicable U.S. legal and regulatory guidelines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and litigation management tools.
• Excellent English communication (spoken and written).
• Prior experience working for a U.S. company (mandatory).
• Personal laptop/desktop required.

Salary/Stipend

USD 3000 (negotiable), contract/consultancy with PTO.
