Details of the Job/Internship
BITS Law School, Mumbai, is hiring an Assistant/Associate Professor (Law) to join their office in Mumbai starting June/July 2025.
Role and Responsibilities
- Teach semester-length courses in Property Law, Family Law, Contract and Tort Law, Civil Procedure Code & Evidence Law, Corporate Law, and Corporate Governance.
- Demonstrate quality teaching supported by student feedback.
- Mentor students in learning, research, writing, and tutorials.
- Curate and update core courses and design interdisciplinary electives.
- Participate actively in institution building and collaborative academic planning.
- Pursue a robust research agenda and contribute to scholarship.
- Fulfil academic duties related to examinations, assessment, and evaluation with integrity.
Eligibility
- Excellent academic record and a Master’s Degree in Law (LL.M.) with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).
- Qualified in National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC), or a similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.
- Preferably awarded a Ph.D. degree in Law, close to submission/award, or currently enrolled in a Ph.D. at a reputed university.
- High quality scholarly research published or accepted in peer-reviewed and indexed journals.
- Exposure to collaborative teaching or research with national/international universities is desirable.
- Inclination towards interdisciplinary research in Law and allied areas.
