The Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) is a statutory agency in India tasked with investigating corporate fraud. It operates under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, with the mandate of detecting and prosecuting or recommending prosecution for white-collar crimes. The SFIO is a multi-disciplinary organisation, comprising experts in various fields such as accountancy, forensic auditing, banking, law, information technology, investigation, company law, capital market, taxation, among other domains.
Details of the Job/Internship
The Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) is inviting applications for the position of Assistant Director (Law) to join them at their office in Delhi / Mumbai / Chennai / Kolkata / Hyderabad.
Role and Responsibilities
- To assist in the filing of prosecutions/complaints in all the cases investigated by SFIO in the concerned courts and pursue their progress;
- Coordination with counsels detailed by the government;
- To provide expertise in Law matters;
- Supervision / maintenance of data base of court cases;
- Rendering assistance to senior officers in the prosecution division;
- Any other work assigned from time to time.
Eligibility
- Holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent Cadre or Department; or
- With two years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in Level 7 in the pay matrix or equivalent in the parent Cadre or Department; or
- With six years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in Level 6 in the pay matrix or equivalent in the parent Cadre or Department; and
- Possessing the educational qualifications and experience as under:
Essential;
- Graduate in any discipline plus Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognised university or institute plus one-year experience in handling litigation and court matters / administration of Law in a Government organization; or
- Integrated graduate in Law (five years’ duration) from a recognised university or institute plus two years’ experience in handling litigation and court matters / administration of Law in a Government organization.
Desirable:
- One-year experience in corporate / criminal law matters.
- Master’s in Law (LLM) from a recognized university or institute.
