Role and Responsibilities
- Knowledge of Laws or at least where & how to find them.
- Manage litigation: drafting, filing, and appearing in courts.
- Drafting legal documents: petitions, affidavits, pleadings, evidence, replies, and notices.
- Conduct in-depth legal research to support case preparation.
- Knowledge of Case – laws and where and how to find and decipher them.
- Appearances in various courts including the High Court of Bombay, and all lower courts including Family courts and Metropolitan magistrates court to take adjournment and Passovers in court and appear in non-effective hearings.
- Write reporting emails and make bills for work done.
- Back office, court department, and intra-office liaison for preparation of briefs.
- Coordinate filing, e-filing and department clerks, filing clerks and office and court clerks to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Follow up with clients for completion of legal processes and procedures.
- Sorting of files and papers and proceedings.
- Copying / Scanning / Printing/ Stitching/ Binding of legal compilations.
- Preparing minutes of meetings and court hearings.
- Attending case hearings, organising documents, exhibits, annexures, and compilations for hearings by preparing materials and supporting documentation.
- Ability to read, comprehend Laws and Conduct research from the available books at the library and from available databases.
- Knowledge of Computers, typing and Microsoft Office.
- Reasonable typing ability.
- Maintenance of confidentiality in all matters.
- Assisting senior advocates in completing all case-related work and back-office tasks.
Eligibility
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or Honours or LLM
- Freshers or 3 - 4 years of experience welcome.
- Self-motivated proactiveness to learn and adapt in a dynamic legal environment.
- Strong sense of discipline & punctuality.
- Strong communication and research skills in English and/or Regional Languages.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
- Team player with the ability to follow instructions meet deadlines and maintain the standards of professional ethics.
