Details of the Job/Internship
HSBC is hiring an Assistant Legal Counsel with 6 years of experience to join their Bengaluru office. The role involves end-to-end negotiation and execution of traded market documents and ensuring legal and credit protection for the bank.
Role and Responsibilities
- Negotiate and execute traded market documents such as ISDA, CSA, GMRA, GMSLA, and related agreements.
- Review constitutional documents of counterparties based on jurisdictional requirements.
- Manage assigned cases from initiation to completion with ownership and accountability.
- Maintain and update internal databases in a timely manner.
- Conduct legal research and ensure compliance with relevant HSBC policies and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with internal legal teams and third-party relationship managers.
- Provide legal and credit protection for the bank through accurate documentation.
Eligibility
- Law degree from a recognized law college/university in India or overseas.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in drafting and vetting agreements/contracts.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Excellent time management, analytical, and judgmental skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong attention to accuracy.
- Understanding of business and product knowledge (Global Markets).
