YES BANK is hiring an Assistant Legal Counsel with 2–5 years of experience to join its office in Mumbai. The role involves providing legal support to the bank’s businesses and functions by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, advising on regulatory compliance, handling litigation, and ensuring operations align with applicable legal and regulatory frameworks.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, MOUs, NDAs, and other legal documents.
- Support business teams in structuring transactions and ensuring legal compliance and risk mitigation.
- Provide day-to-day legal advice to business units, operations, HR, risk, and compliance teams.
- Interpret applicable laws, regulations, and RBI guidelines.
- Assist in managing litigation, arbitration, and regulatory proceedings.
- Coordinate with external counsel, prepare case briefs, and support legal strategy.
- Ensure compliance with banking laws, RBI directions, and other regulatory requirements.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations and advise management on implications.
- Identify potential legal risks and suggest mitigation measures.
- Assist in drafting and implementing legal policies, processes, and standard templates.
- Liaise with regulators, law firms, and statutory authorities.
- Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders by providing timely legal solutions.
Eligibility
- LL.B. (mandatory); LL.M. preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in a bank, NBFC, law firm, or corporate legal department, preferably with exposure to banking or financial services.
- Strong knowledge of banking and financial laws, including the Banking Regulation Act, RBI regulations, Companies Act, and Contract Act.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments under tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on risk mitigation.
