Details of the Job/Internship
LEO1 is looking for a candidate for the position of Assistant Legal Manager with 8+ years of experience.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide legal support and advice for financial business operations, including but not limited to NBFC (loans for consumer durables, personal loans, and business loans), UPI payments, Fintech services, brand partners, payment gateways, e-commerce aggregators, offline merchants / services etc.
- Create a robust legal framework for structuring the organization’s products, services, and functions.
- Develop standard agreements, legal templates, and processes in compliance with KYC mandates and applicable laws.
- Collaborate with the Risk and Compliance team to ensure all agreements and processes align with relevant regulations.
- Review customer complaints, address internal queries before loan sanction, and manage cases scheduled in courts, whether filed by or against the Company.
- Liaise with external advocates and counsel for legal submissions, statements, and depositions in courts.
- Conduct legal research on laws, regulations, and legislative changes that impact the Company’s business.
- Perform additional legal functions, roles, and responsibilities as assigned from time to time.
Eligibility
Educational Qualifications:
- LLB (with or without LLM).
Minimum Post Qualification Experience (PQE):
- At least 8 years of relevant experience, particularly in the NBFC sector (Retail Loans).
- Relevant Experience (in order of priority):
- Extensive experience in the NBFC segment (loans for consumer durables and personal loans, ).
- Exposure to Fintech legalities.
Behavioural Competencies:
- Ability to collaborate effectively with different teams across business units.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to multitask and handle various financial service lines provided by the Company.
- Strong adherence to timelines and deadlines
