Details of the Job/Internship
Manyavar Mohey is looking for a candidate for the position of Assistant Manager - Legal with 8 to 10 years of experience to join them at their office in Kolkata.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize commercial and corporate agreements including but not limited to MSAs, End User License Agreements (EULAs), SOWs, SLAs, DPAs, NDAs, vendor/supplier, lease, Franchisee Agreements, licensing and marketing agreements.
- Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice by identifying legal, commercial, and compliance risks.
- Manage the complete contract lifecycle including amendments, renewals, terminations, and deviations.
- Advise on data privacy and data protection obligations; draft and review DPAs, privacy clauses, and related schedules.
- Support implementation of internal privacy policies, compliance frameworks, and privacy-by-design practices.
- Handle intellectual property matters including ownership, licensing, usage rights, and protection; draft and review IP clauses in technology and commercial agreements.
- Act as a trusted legal advisor to internal stakeholders and support internal legal awareness initiatives.
Eligibility
- LL.B. from a recognised university.
- 8–10 years of post-qualification experience in in-house legal teams and/or law firms with a strong non-litigation / transactional focus.
- Prior experience in IT/technology organisations preferred.
- Strong exposure to commercial contracts, data privacy, and IP matters.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, business-driven environment.
- Litigation exposure is a plus; however, this is a purely non-litigation role.
- Willingness to work in Kolkata; candidates open to relocation are welcome.
Salary/Stipend
