Details of the Job/Internship

Manyavar & Mohey is hiring an Assistant Manager - Legal & Compliance with experience of 7-8 years to join their office in Kolkata.

Role and Responsibilities

• Ensure end-to-end compliance with Central, State, and Local laws including the Companies Act and industry-specific statutes.
• Oversee factory compliances such as the Factories Act, Contract Labour Act, PF, ESIC, and Bonus.
• Manage environmental compliances including Pollution Control norms, Waste Management, and Battery Waste Rules.
• Monitor retail and multi-state Shops & Establishment compliances, trade licenses, and Legal Metrology requirements.
• Own and manage the compliance management tool to ensure accurate mapping of laws and timely closures.
• Conduct periodic internal compliance audits across units and track corrective actions.
• Proactively monitor regulatory amendments and coordinate with HR, Finance, and Plant Heads to embed controls.
• Prepare compliance dashboards and support the handling of inspections and legal notices.

Eligibility

• Mandatory LL.B. degree from a recognized university.
• 7-9 years of hands-on experience in statutory compliance within the manufacturing or retail industry.
• Strong working knowledge of factory, labor, environmental, and safety regulations.
• Proven experience in managing multi-location compliance frameworks independently.
• Proficiency in using compliance management tools and automation platforms.
• Certification in Compliance or Risk Management is considered an added advantage.
