bozzil is hiring for the position of Assistant Manager - Legal to join their office in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
1) Compliance Strategy & Framework
- Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance SOP aligned with company goals and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and monitor policies, procedures, and controls to ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and industry standards in collaboration with senior management.
- Maintain a central compliance diligence folder covering all aspects of compliance.
2) Regulatory & Legal Support
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines impacting all brands under the company.
- Analyze regulatory changes and advise senior management on their business implications.
- Draft, review, and vet contracts and agreements with vendors, partners, and third parties.
- Handle secretarial compliances for all entities.
- Support in closing compliance and transaction documents during structural changes or fundraise processes.
3) Risk Assessment & Mitigation
- Conduct periodic risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and compliance gaps.
- Design and deliver compliance training programs to employees, promoting a culture of integrity and compliance awareness.
- Regularly monitor SBRT regulations and ensure compliance across entities.
4) External Communication & Reporting
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies, auditors, and external stakeholders on compliance matters.
- Prepare and submit timely, accurate reports to regulators as required.
- Lead and coordinate legal due diligence during corporate restructuring or fundraising activities.
5) Collaboration
- Work closely with legal counsel, senior management, and cross-functional teams to address compliance issues and embed best practices across the organization.
Eligibility
- Company Secretary (CS) qualification is mandatory.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) preferred; additional compliance certifications (e.g., CCEP) are a plus.
- Proven experience in compliance roles within startups, SBRT, or D2C environments.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks applicable to startups and private limited companies (FEMA, FDI, data protection laws, etc.).
- Excellent contract drafting, negotiation, and secretarial filing skills (MCA compliance).
- Familiarity with GST and TDS filing requirements.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
