Details of the Job/Internship

Haptik is hiring an Assistant Manager – Legal with experience of 4–7 years to join their office in Mumbai. The role involves providing comprehensive legal support across multiple functions, including contracts, compliance, and intellectual property matters, while ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations and supporting the company’s growth and innovation.

Role and Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage legal matters related to the business, including contracts, compliance, and intellectual property.
• Draft, review, and negotiate customer contracts, vendor agreements, and partnership agreements.
• Advise on regulatory compliance, data privacy, and cybersecurity matters related to SaaS operations.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement legal strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support company initiatives and assess potential risks.
• Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting the industry and communicate implications to relevant teams.
• Assist in managing litigation and dispute resolution matters and coordinate with external counsel.
• Provide training and support to staff on legal policies and best practices.

Eligibility

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• 2–5 years of legal experience with a focus on SaaS, technology, or corporate law.
• Strong understanding of contract law and experience with technology-related agreements.
• Knowledge of data protection regulations such as General Data Protection Regulation and California Consumer Privacy Act.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and external partners.
• Previous in-house experience in a technology or SaaS company is preferred.
• Familiarity with intellectual property law and licensing agreements is preferred.
• Experience with compliance programmes and risk management is preferred.
