Pepper is hiring an Assistant Manager – Legal with 3–4 years of experience to join its in-house legal team in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate global commercial agreements including MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, vendor, SaaS, licensing, and partnership contracts.
- Support sales, procurement, and business teams with practical legal advice and quick turnarounds.
- Lead contract negotiations with US and global stakeholders.
- Identify legal and commercial risks and recommend business-friendly solutions.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable US and global laws.
- Support audits and dispute management and coordinate with external counsel when required.
- Assist in developing and improving legal templates, playbooks, and internal processes.
Eligibility
- LL.B. qualification is mandatory.
- LL.M. qualification is preferred.
- 3–4 years of experience in an in-house legal role or law firm with strong exposure to commercial contracts.
- Hands-on experience with global or US-focused agreements is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of commercial terms, negotiations, and risk allocation.
- Ability to work independently during US business hours.
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
- Willingness to work from the Mumbai office during US shift hours.
