Details of the Job/Internship

Pepper is hiring an Assistant Manager – Legal (US Shift) with experience of 3–4 years to join their office in Mumbai. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate global commercial agreements including MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, vendor, SaaS, licensing, and partnership contracts.
• Support sales, procurement, and business teams by providing practical legal advice and quick turnaround on contract matters.
• Lead contract negotiations with US and global stakeholders.
• Identify legal and commercial risks and recommend practical, business-friendly solutions.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable US and global laws.
• Assist with audits, dispute management, and coordinate with external counsel when required.
• Contribute to developing and improving legal templates, playbooks, and internal processes.

Eligibility

• Law graduate (LLB); LLM is a plus.
• 3–4 years of experience in in-house legal teams or law firms with strong exposure to commercial contracts.
• Hands-on experience with global or US-focused agreements (mandatory).
• Strong understanding of commercial terms, negotiations, and risk allocation.
• Ability to work independently during US business hours.
• Clear communication skills with a practical and problem-solving mindset.
• Willingness to work from the Mumbai office during US shift hours.
• Strong spoken and written English.

Salary/Stipend
