PhonePe is hiring for the position of Assistant Legal Manager with 7+ years of experience to join their office in Bengaluru. 

Role and Responsibilities

Contract Management

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including:
• Vendor and marketplace agreements
• Logistics and fulfillment contracts
• Software licensing and services agreements
• Terms of Use/Service
• Advertising, marketing, and brand partnerships

Legal & Regulatory Advisory

• Provide practical legal advice to business stakeholders on matters relating to:
• FDI policy and e-commerce guidelines
• Consumer protection laws
• Data privacy and IT laws
• Advertising and marketing regulations
• Payment processing and product safety laws
• Food Safety and Intellectual Property regulations
• General commercial/contractual laws

Compliance & Research

• Stay updated with legal and regulatory developments impacting e-commerce and advise on implications.
• Conduct legal research on specific issues impacting operations and strategic planning.

Training & Internal Support

• Deliver internal training sessions on applicable legal and compliance frameworks.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams such as product, marketing, operations, and sales to support business goals.

Eligibility

• LL.B. from a recognized institution; LL.M. preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of legal experience with a strong focus on e-commerce and technology law.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex commercial contracts and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong legal drafting, analytical, and advisory skills.
• Excellent communication, decision-making, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Exposure to fast-paced, tech-enabled work environments.
• Understanding of modern e-commerce and quick commerce models in India is a plus.

Salary/Stipend
