Details of the Job/Internship

Sony Pictures Networks India is hiring an Assistant Manager Legal to support the legal function for its digital and content licensing business. The role involves handling a diverse range of commercial contracts and supporting multiple verticals within the organisation.

Role and Responsibilities

• Manage content licensing including due diligence, rights management, and exploitation across platforms.
• Handle music acquisitions, licensing, rights advice, and industry-specific transactions.
• Support international distribution through drafting and negotiating affiliate, barter, marketing, and monetisation agreements.
• Provide legal support across channel business functions including production, marketing, IT, PR, and ad sales.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts while ensuring compliance and value addition.
• Manage systems such as contract lifecycle, data management, templates, and contractual matrices.
• Provide legal inputs for new initiatives and special projects.
• Advise on legal risks and provide proactive, effective legal counsel.
• Understand and mitigate tax and regulatory exposures in contracts.
• Promote best legal practices and provide regular updates to reporting managers.

Eligibility

• LL.B. or a postgraduate degree in Law from a reputed institute.
• PQE of 3–5 years with experience in commercial transactions and intellectual property.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the Media & Entertainment industry, especially in content licensing.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Good knowledge of contract law, civil litigation, arbitration, and the Copyright Act, 1957.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal technology tools.

Salary/Stipend
