Chanakya University is hiring an Assistant Professor of Law for the School of Law, Governance and Public Policy in Bengaluru. The role involves teaching, research, academic evaluation, mentorship, institutional development, and professional engagement in alignment with the National Education Policy framework and UGC guidelines.
Role and Responsibilities
- Preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Designing and developing course curricula in accordance with the National Education Policy framework, UGC guidelines, and university objectives.
- Adopting innovative teaching methods to actively engage students in the learning process.
- Providing academic guidance and mentorship to support students’ professional and academic development.
- Undertaking scholarly research and publishing in relevant academic areas.
- Participating in collaborative and interdisciplinary research projects and applying for research grants.
- Designing and administering assessments, examinations, and assignments, and providing timely feedback to students.
- Assisting in curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation processes.
- Participating in departmental and university committees and contributing to academic governance.
- Engaging in community service, outreach activities, and experiential learning initiatives.
- Pursuing continuous professional development through conferences, workshops, and seminars.
- Acting as an academic advisor and supervising student research projects.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including academic institutions, industry, and government bodies.
Eligibility
- A master’s degree with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a relevant or allied subject from a recognised Indian or foreign university.
- Qualification in the National Eligibility Test conducted by UGC or CSIR, or an equivalent test such as SET, or possession of a Ph.D. degree in accordance with UGC regulations for exemption from NET or SET.
- For disciplines where NET or SET is not conducted, a Ph.D. degree is the minimum eligibility for appointment as Assistant Professor.
