Details of the Job/Internship

Future Generali India Life Insurance is looking to hire an Assistant Vice President (AVP) – Legal with 12-15 years of experience to lead and manage all legal functions.

Role and Responsibilities

• Independently handle litigation (civil, criminal, labour, employment, and insurance-related).
• Manage contract execution including drafting, vetting, and negotiation of LOIs, NDAs, MSAs, lease deeds, and other agreements.
• Provide strategic legal advice to various departments and business units.
• Ensure legal compliance with Insurance Laws, Labour Laws, and other regulatory frameworks.
• Represent the company in courts, arbitration, ombudsman forums, and regulatory proceedings.
• Oversee documentation, filing, and record-keeping.
• Guide legal strategy in leasing transactions across India, including due diligence and registration.
• Manage external counsels and ensure timely resolution of legal matters.
• Monitor and implement changes in applicable laws (e.g., Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita).
• Provide legal training and leadership to the internal legal team.

Eligibility

• Educational Qualification: LLB from a premier law school (LLM preferred).
• Experience: 12–15 years PQE with extensive experience in the life insurance sector.
• Sector Preference: Candidates with prior experience in Life Insurance companies preferred.
• Team Experience: Should have led legal teams of 5–10 members.
