Details of the Job/Internship
Lex Commerci is hiring a lawyer with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in arbitration and dispute resolution to join their Chandigarh office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Handle arbitration matters independently or as part of a team, including case preparation, pleadings, and hearings.
- Draft and review arbitration petitions, statements of claim/defense, rejoinders, and written submissions.
- Appear before arbitral tribunals, courts, and other dispute resolution forums.
- Assist in the enforcement and challenge of arbitral awards under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.
- Liaise with clients, counsel, and experts for case management and evidence coordination.
- Conduct legal research and prepare briefs, notes, and opinions on complex arbitration and commercial disputes.
- Support senior lawyers/partners in strategy development and client advisory.
Eligibility
- LL.B. from a reputed law school.
- Enrolment with the Bar Council of India.
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in arbitration and dispute resolution, preferably with a leading law firm or chambers.
- Strong understanding of arbitration laws, procedural rules, and case law.
- Excellent drafting, research, communication, and presentation skills.
- Exposure to both ad hoc and institutional arbitration preferred.
