Details of the Job/Internship

Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys is hiring an Associate for its Commercial Disputes Resolution team to join the Mumbai office. The role involves working on commercial litigation and arbitration matters, supporting senior lawyers in drafting and preparation of pleadings, handling client interactions when required, and assisting in both advisory and dispute resolution work.

Role and Responsibilities

• Working on commercial litigation and arbitration matters.
• Researching legal issues using multiple databases and preparing first-cut drafts in arbitrations and commercial disputes.
• Drafting pleadings, written submissions, and other legal documents under the guidance of seniors.
• Analysing legal issues and applying relevant laws in a practical manner.
• Communicating directly with clients when required.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current commercial laws.
• Filing documents and pleadings before various forums with assistance from seniors and court clerks.
• Visiting courts and client offices as required.

Eligibility

• A three-year or five-year law degree from a reputed university with an excellent academic record.
• One to two years of post-qualification experience in commercial litigation or arbitration.
• Experience in domestic and international arbitrations involving contractual disputes and general civil and commercial litigation.
• Experience in drafting replies to legal notices, civil suits, appeals, writs, special leave petitions, and written submissions.
• Additional experience in general corporate advisory and intellectual property disputes.
