Details of the Job/Internship

Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys is hiring an Associate in the Commercial Disputes team with 1–2 years of experience to join its Mumbai office.

Role and Responsibilities

• Work on matters involving general commercial laws, court and arbitration procedures, IBC, Limitation Act, CPC, Company Law, and Constitutional law.
• Analyse legal issues, conduct research across databases, and prepare first-cut drafts in arbitration and commercial disputes.
• Draft pleadings, replies, written submissions, and other documents under senior supervision.
• Communicate directly with clients when required.
• Ensure awareness of current developments in commercial laws.
• Assist in filing pleadings before various forums with support from seniors and court clerks.
• Attend court proceedings and visit client offices as and when required.

Eligibility

• Three-year or five-year law degree from a reputed university with a strong academic record.
• One to two years of post-qualification experience in commercial litigation or arbitration.
• Exposure to domestic and international arbitrations involving contractual disputes and civil or commercial litigation.
• Experience in drafting replies to legal notices, civil suits, appeals, writs, SLPs, and written submissions.
• Strong command of spoken and written English.
• Excellent analytical ability, integrity, and commitment to professional ethics.
• Ability to work collaboratively as a team player.
• Comfort with technology and efficient use of computers and legal databases.
• Prior publication of articles on relevant dispute-related topics.

Salary/Stipend
