Details of the Job/Internship

Wipro is hiring an Associate Corporate Counsel L1 with 4-7 years of post-qualification experience to join their Bengaluru office.

Role and Responsibilities

• Support global compliance as per the Companies Act and other local and global compliance requirements for all Wipro entities.
• Assist in reviewing emerging global compliance requirements in data privacy, GDPR, and ethical compliance, assess their impact, and prepare action plans.
• Support senior counsel and business unit legal heads in policy reviews and updates.
• Develop expertise in legal aspects of data privacy, cyber security, GDPR, and ethical compliance.
• Draft, review, and update legal policies in assigned domains.
• Partner with IRM teams to monitor cyber security and data privacy threats and prepare legal responses.
• Support audits from a data privacy and cyber security perspective.
• Track developments in regulatory frameworks in assigned domains and assess their impact on governance frameworks.
• Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts including software licenses, IT services, IP licenses, NDAs, and other commercial agreements.
• Provide legal advice on software license compliance, open source issues, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS copyright concerns, data protection, and cross-border transactions.
• Collaborate with senior leadership, conduct training, and create templates and playbooks.

Eligibility

• 4-7 years of relevant legal experience, preferably at least 3 years in-house.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Good academic credentials.
