Details of the Job/Internship
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is hiring an Associate Corporate Counsel with experience of 3+ years to join their office in Gurugram.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal guidance and support to AWS's sales, marketing, and product teams in India.
- Act as the Company Secretary, maintaining proper corporate governance and overseeing all regulatory filings.
- Review, draft, and negotiate the legal terms of a broad range of commercial and technology contracts.
- Manage board meetings, draft resolutions, and ensure compliance with the Companies Act and applicable local laws.
- Interpret and apply relevant Indian laws and regulations within a fast-moving business context.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage AWS's legal and compliance obligations effectively.
- Handle legal compliance reviews and navigate ambiguous legal situations with professional judgment.
Eligibility
- LL.B. (undergraduate law degree) from a recognized Indian university.
- Associate Membership (ACS) with the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) with a current valid membership.
- Minimum of 3+ years of legal experience, preferably with a mix of law firm and in-house work.
- Proven experience in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contract terms.
- Strong grasp of both corporate law and company secretarial duties in India.
- Preferred: Experience in a high-growth technology company and knowledge of cloud computing or IT infrastructure.
- Preferred: Understanding of intellectual property, competition, and privacy issues.
