Amazon is hiring an Associate Corporate Counsel with 3+ years of experience to join their office in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Counsel the Prime Video business on commercial, licensing, technology, and regulatory matters.
- Structure, draft, and negotiate complex commercial transactions and content acquisition deals.
- Evaluate rights issues, confirm chain of title, and handle legal clearance matters.
- Review standards and practices (S&P), and manage legal aspects of promotion and publicity.
- Provide day-to-day legal advice to cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, and policy.
- Resolve pre-litigation disputes, content-related escalations, and regulatory inquiries.
- Monitor relevant legal developments and advise on intellectual property and digital media compliance.
- Coordinate closely with local and global legal teams as well as outside counsel.
Eligibility
- LL.B. (undergraduate law degree) from a top-tier university in India.
- Minimum of 3+ years of Intellectual Property (IP) Law experience.
- Proven ability to work proactively and independently to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong project management and concise communication skills for interacting with leadership and stakeholders.
- Preferred: In-house experience in the media space with a reputed MNC in content-related transactions.
- Preferred: Knowledge or experience in policy, regulatory, or S&P issues.
