Details of the Job/Internship

Amazon is hiring an Associate Corporate Counsel for their Bengaluru office under Worldwide Operations. 

Role and Responsibilities

• You will serve as the primary lawyer responsible for counseling the business on legal documentation and compliances (food safety, labor laws, and other applicable regulations).
• You will streamline and optimize processes including for identifying vendors/ third-party operators and assisting with legal issues in day-to-day operations at the site, develop strategies to mitigate risks with third-party operators, contract with store operators and hub operators, and partner with our in-house teams on engaging last-mile delivery partners, engaging with and responding to regulators like legal metrology, FSSAI, BIS and dealing with law enforcement, helping business prevent losses.
• Additionally, you will be expected to stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting the industry and protect Amazon’s intellectual property rights.

Eligibility

• Law degree (J.D. or equivalent) from a leading university or law school with license to practice law in India or other common law jurisdiction
• A minimum 4+ years of legal experience
• Must be proactive, enthusiastic, enjoy working hard and being challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance, and able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Strong written and oral communication skills
