Details of the Job/Internship

U.S. Pharmacopeia is hiring an Associate Counsel with 6–7 years of experience to join its India operations in Hyderabad. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on corporate, operational, and business matters.
• Ensure compliance with Indian laws including company law, customs, drugs and cosmetics, privacy, and intellectual property laws.
• Advise on legal risks associated with business decisions, strategies, and new initiatives.
• Assist with preparation and filing of regulatory submissions.
• Act as the single point of contact for USP India’s Contract Management System.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial contracts, including NDAs, service agreements, vendor and purchase agreements.
• Develop and maintain standard contract templates for USP India.
• Administer and manage the contract lifecycle within the CMS tool.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, paralegals, and external counsels on contract and legal matters.
• Support dispute resolution and litigation by coordinating court documentation and external law firms.
• Provide legal research, writing, and general legal support as required.

Eligibility

• B.A. LL.B (Hons) or Bachelor’s degree in Law with a Master’s degree in Law.
• 6–7 years of relevant legal experience.
• Experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and contract management.
• Strong research, analytical, interpretation, and drafting skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to build credibility with stakeholders.
