Details of the Job/Internship
Uniphore is looking for a candidate for the position of Associate Counsel with 2-4 years of experience to join them in their Bengaluru office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate various types of contracts, including customer, procurement, and vendor agreements, ensuring they align with company objectives and compliance requirements.
- Provide legal support on day-to-day legal queries from internal stakeholders, including the business, finance, and operations teams.
- Handle legal compliance matters, including corporate governance, data privacy, and regulatory issues.
- Manage legal tech tools and assist in optimizing legal operations for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Advise on the implementation and use of legal technologies to streamline workflows and improve legal processes.
- Support the compliance program, particularly in relation to AI technologies and data privacy laws.
- Ensure that contracts and legal documentation are properly organized, tracked, and stored.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify and mitigate legal risks and ensure best practices are followed.
- Assist with various ad hoc legal matters and projects as needed.
Eligibility
- 2-5 years of post-qualification legal experience (PQE), with a mix of experience at a law firm and in-house.
- Strong experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and management, particularly in customer and vendor agreements.
- Knowledge of compliance requirements and legal operations, particularly in fast-paced, tech-driven environments.
- Experience in handling legal tech tools to support legal processes and improve efficiency.
- A proactive and flexible approach to managing multiple tasks and stakeholders in a dynamic work environment.
- Understanding of artificial intelligence, data privacy laws (such as GDPR, CCPA), and emerging technology regulations is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A mix of law firm and in-house experience will be ideal.
- An LLM (Master of Laws) degree is a plus, particularly with a focus on technology law, data privacy, or corporate law.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
