Details of the Job/Internship
Poovayya & Co. is hiring a Lawyer – Criminal Litigation with experience of 3–5 years to join their office in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
- Represent clients in criminal cases before trial courts and higher courts.
- Provide legal advice on criminal matters and rights.
- Conduct case investigations, including reviewing evidence and interviewing witnesses.
- Draft legal documents such as bail applications, petitions, and appeals.
- Prepare case strategies and defense arguments.
- Appear in court for hearings, trials, and arguments.
- Negotiate plea bargains where appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with legal standards and regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.).
- Enrollment with the State Bar Council is mandatory.
- 3–5 years of experience in criminal litigation.
- Proven experience in handling criminal cases independently.
- Experience in trial courts and/or high courts.
- Proficiency in Kannada (spoken and written) is mandatory
