Details of the Job/Internship
D. E. Shaw India Private Limited is hiring an Associate Director – Legal and Compliance with approximately 12 years of experience to join their office in Hyderabad.
Role and Responsibilities
- Independently review, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts including license agreements, SaaS contracts, trading agreements (ISDA, GMRA, confirms, repos), NDAs, and vendor agreements.
- Lead discussions with counterparties and internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with human capital, finance, and operations teams to facilitate the contract review process.
- Devise processes for contract review and prepare contract templates.
- Conduct legal research and manage legal risks.
- Lead and manage large legal teams, focusing on recruitment, training, and retention.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law.
- Approximately 12 years of relevant experience including at least 6 years of leading large legal teams.
- Strong experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating diverse contracts.
- Proven leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high integrity.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in talent management.
- Master’s degree in Law preferred.
