Details of the Job/Internship
Licious is hiring for the position of Associate Director - Liasioning and Licensing with 10-15 years of experience to join their office in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead licensing and regulatory approvals for all operations in Karnataka, including FSSAI, Labour, Pollution Control, Fire & Safety, Legal Metrology, BBMP, APMC, Excise (as applicable), and more.
- Own end-to-end compliance management—from acquisition and renewal to tracking and documentation—for all licenses tied to physical infrastructure including retail outlets, warehouses, and logistics hubs.
- Act as the senior liaison with local and state authorities, including municipal bodies, food safety officers, law enforcement, and regulatory departments.
- Provide strategic insights to leadership on Karnataka’s regulatory landscape, helping assess expansion feasibility and compliance risks.
- Monitor regulatory developments in the state, proactively assessing their business implications.
- Handle regulatory escalations, inspections, audits, and ensure timely resolution of any compliance issues.
- Build and manage a strong network of consultants, legal advisors, and compliance teams across Karnataka’s districts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Legal, Business Development, Operations, Projects, Supply Chain, and Customer Experience—to ensure licenses are secured in line with launch timelines.
- Represent Licious at industry associations and government forums to maintain brand reputation and influence policy positively.
Eligibility
- 10–15 years of experience in licensing, liaisoning, or regulatory affairs, with substantial engagement with state and local authorities.
- Deep knowledge of government regulations impacting the food, retail, FMCG, and QSR sectors.
- A strong network within FSSAI, BBMP, labour departments, pollution boards, and other key regulatory bodies in Karnataka.
- Proven success in managing multi-location expansion and end-to-end compliance across the state.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence leadership and navigate cross-functional collaboration.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Public Administration, Business or a related field. Advanced certifications in regulatory affairs or compliance are a plus.
- Multilingual fluency, with proficiency in Kannada being a significant advantage.
