Details of the Job/Internship

Apollo Global Management, Inc. is hiring an Associate Director - Legal Counsel with experience of 10+ years to join their office in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

Role and Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor on India-specific employment law and internal employee relations.
• Coordinate with external counsel to advise on non-India APAC legal matters, including office expansions and restrictive covenants.
• Manage internal investigations related to discrimination, harassment, and retaliation issues.
• Advise Human Capital on performance management, disciplinary actions, and probation reviews.
• Track industry trends and new regulations to assess risks and ensure firm-wide compliance.
• Provide legal oversight for the employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions.
• Manage employment-related arbitration, litigation, and mediation proceedings.
• Develop and update employment templates, including offer letters, separation agreements, and employee handbooks.
• Design and partner on workplace training requirements and maintain case management trackers.

Eligibility

• Law degree and status as a qualified solicitor.
• Indicative guide of 10+ years of relevant experience at a top-tier law firm or global financial services firm.
• Extensive understanding of employment laws across India and the APAC region.
• Fluency in managing complex incentive compensation arrangements.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to distill complex legal concepts for stakeholders.
• Proven ability to influence decision-making through strong business acumen and negotiation.
• High level of professional integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
