Details of the Job/Internship
myLaw is hiring for the position of Associate Editor with 3-5 years of experience to join their office in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
- Review and edit headnotes, case summaries, and keywords for reported judgments.
- Ensure timely updates of statutes and other legislative materials.
- Ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in summarizing legal issues, rulings, and ratio decidendi.
- Collaborate with the content and editorial teams to uphold high editorial and legal standards.
- Verify legal citations, party names, court details, and referenced legal principles.
- Conduct quality control checks on content before it is uploaded to the database.
- Track key decisions across the Supreme Court and High Courts, highlighting judgments of legal significance.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of editorial policies and content protocols.
Eligibility
- LLB or LLM from a recognized university (mandatory).
- 3–5 years of experience in legal publishing, editing, or research.
- Strong grasp of legal terminology, case law analysis, and statutory interpretation.
- Good understanding of the Indian legal system, including court hierarchy and processes.
- Prior experience with legal databases or law journals is a plus.
