Details of the Job/Internship

Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys is hiring an Associate – Indirect Tax Advisory with experience of 6 months to 2 years to join their office in Mumbai.

Role and Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth research and analysis of legal provisions.
• Draft advisories, opinions, and compliance reports.
• Prepare PowerPoint presentations for client meetings, trainings, and seminars.
• Analyse client data to estimate tax impact on business transactions.
• Develop scenarios to identify tax-efficient business models.
• Contribute articles, monographs, and knowledge content.
• Identify and discuss technical issues with clients while managing firm risk.
• Prepare submissions, replies to notices, and appeals.
• Meet tax authorities and assist in representation during appeals with seniors.
• Handle multiple clients and take near-independent responsibility for smaller clients.
• Develop rapport with middle management of client organisations.
• Stay updated on firm activities, competitors, and business trends.
• Identify new opportunities for existing clients and communicate them to managers.
• Network internally to understand issues impacting clients.
• Compile and update legal databases with latest circulars, notifications, and decisions.
• Stay updated with developments in tax and other laws.
• Contribute to the firm’s knowledge management activities.

Eligibility

• CA or Law Graduate from a recognised law school with a strong academic record.
• 6 months to 2 years of post-qualification experience in indirect tax.
• Prior experience in GST and/or customs is preferred.
• Excellent communication and drafting skills.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Proactive, reliable, and detail-oriented.

Salary/Stipend
